GALERIE ADMINISTRATOR, EDITIONS
London

 

 

GALERIE ARTEMPO  is seeking a responsible galerie administrator for all Modern & Contemporary Editions sales and providing
centralized support for the Editions department. The sale administrator will act as a liaison on behalf of the department for both internal and external clients with a focus on managing consignment contracts, accounting for property inventory and handling all issues surrounding client account settlement. This candidate should possess a working knowledge/experience of printmaking artists and techniques.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will work with the Worldwide Department Co-Heads on all administrative duties for the sale.
  • Receive phone calls for the department answering a variety of questions in a polite and professional manner and fielding calls from consignment inquiring parties.
  • Respond to internal requests/calls on behalf of the department.
  • Issue client contracts for all upcoming Modern & Contemporary / Evening & Day Editions sales, including Online sales;
    and After sales, recording data using internal systems as required.
  • Account for all inventory by maintaining consignor files and excel spreadsheets, including pending sale property.
  • Coordinate the collection and receipt of auction and private sale property with the shipping department and
    warehouse.
  • Aid the department in proofreading and editing catalogue layouts before release to Production.
  • Work on presentations – gather input from different team members – format and incorporate respective documents
    in (primarily) PowerPoint presentations.

 

Education and Training

  • Modern & Contemporary Editions background desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
  • Foreign languages: desirable but not essential.

INTERNSHIP – CONTEMPORARY ART
Los Angeles

 

 

GALERIE ARTEMPO is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working and motivated intern to fill a fixed-term 2021 Internship in the Contemporary Art department. Based in our Los Angeles Headquarters in Santa Monica, the primary focus of the internship will be to gain an insight into the day to day operations of a successful international auction house. The internship would be suitable for applicants with an interest specifically in Contemporary Art but would also welcome applications from candidates with an interest in art generally.

The term can be 3-6 months.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The intern will assist in carrying out a range of tasks that support successful delivery of sales administration to help the
intern to gain experience that contributes to their own professional development.
The intern will be involved with a variety of different tasks including:

  • Administration
  • Archiving
  • Cataloguing
  • Researching
  • Essay writing
  • Translation of texts
  • Helping to set up exhibitions and sales
  • Ad-hoc projects
