Marisa Purcell, Marisa formally graduated in the arts in 1993 and came from a creative family who passionately instilled in her a love of painting from a very early age. Since the beginning of the millennium has been exhibiting her artwork throughout Australia and Europe gaining recognition as a rising star within the artworld, the influences within her current work connect to the interactions of light and sound reacting with the paint, she tries to capture this reaction within the paint revealing a sense of life within the color which add great depth and meaning to her work. Marisa’s motivation to capture the life within color is explored by the ways in which she paints, sound variations through music or the changes of light within in her studio space Marisa believes leads to new outcomes within the energetic forms created by the paint and conversely through the artists connection to it. Her works are expressions of feelings captured in moment time, when she looks at her work he see’s memories and seasons rather than color, it is unclear to her if the final results are derived from the paint reacting to the environment or if the artist truly controls the outcome of the work, this communication with the color is what Marisa continues to explore.
