Galerie Artempo Presents a solo exhibition of “Moving Metal” by acclaimed British Artist, Alex O’Connor. This body of work called Song is a series of vessels, cups, objet d’art focused on channeling her inspirations from local landscapes, namely the Nanjizal Cove coastline in Cornwall.

The movement of scored and folder lines evoke the presence of the Song of the sea cave found along this coastline, This area provides it’s viewers with magical moments which are found within the metal, representing stillness and light, the finish of the silver surface feels as though it has been sculpted by water through the age of time. The artists hand here interprets within these objects those qualities of fluidity, energy and power. 

”The world is a beautiful place, filled with wonders, but also cacophonous, baffling, chaotic and overwhelming for me. I convert these sensations into silverware and wearable sculptures that are suffused with harmony, composure, poise and serenity’”
